Wegmans

One name strikes fear in the hearts of supermarket owners in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and now, Maryland and Virginia: Wegmans Food Markets. The regional grocery chain owns about 75 stores, but they are hardly typical. Much larger than most supermarkets (up to 160,000 sq. ft.), they offer specialty shops such as huge in-store cafes, cheese shops with some 300 different varieties, sub shops, and French-style pastry shops. The company is known for its gourmet cooking classes and an extensive employee-training program. Founded in 1916, today Wegmans is one of the largest private companies in the US. The grocery chain is owned and run by the family of founder John Wegman.

Top Answer
I was a department manager for several years, I have always tried to treat each person with respect. Once you have a chance to work with each person and find out what their strengths and weaknesses are you can build from that and place people where they can help the most. I always look for the best in each employee. I have several employees that I continue to be friends outside of the work environment. One thing I like to do it be out on the line with them not just dictate tasks. I want to show them that I do not expect them to do anything that I would not do myself. Each person has something to offer the team and you need to work with each person to find it. The outcome has been good in most circumstances as no one is treated like an outsider.

It went very well. The teacher was absent. We had no daily education planner so I just opened the childrens next lessons and gave it to the substitute teacher. No one knew that we were unprepared and the children had a great day.

A time when I was a leader was when I worked as a cashier and a cook at Mighty Taco. I worked hard to get food orders in on time even when we were understaffed and managed to multitask and fill in the managers spot when they weren't around to do so. I basically became a team leader and helped everybody else out and the outcome turned out to be great when I was complimented by the workers and the customers for my performance.

I can't really remember a time when that happened, but if it ever would, I would try my best to complete the most important task and the others that follow.

I worked hard, set high expectations for myself, listened to all the staff and managers on the job for any set deadlines that had to be done and made sure my job was done to the best of my ability. I never had a time where my work was incomplete and not done on time.

I am excellent at prioritizing. I make it a point to know my job well enough to know what is expected of me and the order of importance to each task.
